All the team at Purely Creative are supporting The Ryan Stanford Appeal. Ryan is a little boy from Lancaster, in the Northwest of England. Just before his first birthday he was diagnosed with Alpers’ Syndrome – a rare genetic disorder that affects his brain and liver.
Ryan suffers from seizures, serious epilepsy and low muscle tone, and is fed directly into his stomach. Alpers’ Syndrome is a heart-breaking condition. Loss of life is likely to be two years from diagnosis.
At the moment there is a 1 in 4 chance that any future child born to Ryan’s mum and dad will also suffer from Alpers’ Syndrome. But – with sufficient funding it may be possible to develop a medical technique to reverse the gene responsible for this tragic condition in unborn babies. That’s why Ryan’s brave mum and dad, Anne and Dave, have set up the Ryan Stanford Appeal – to raise money to fund research into Alpers’ Syndrome and mitochondrial diseases.
Please help Purely Creative to raise as much money as possible to fund research that could give children like Ryan a brighter future. Visit www.justgiving.com/ryanstanford today to donate.
